Fishin' Tipster Takes A Look
In this new feature, Fishin' Tipster evaluates new, as well as older,
fishing-related hardware. These will include lures, rods, reels (ease of
backlash pickin' will be a criterion, for sure!), lines, trolling motors,
depth finders, boats, trailers, and many others. Tipster will also attempt
to honor requests for specific evaluations, given access to the item is
available.

About 10 minutes into the hands-on field evaluation, it suddenly dawned on us - Bill was 100% correct! By golly, his 'Go-Get-It' Lure Retriever was, hands down, the absolute BEST product of its type we had ever used!!

The second thing I gotta tell you is that Shelby's 'CATFISH CANDY' does exactly what he said it would do - it catches catfish like a champ. And, it is not messy.

Well, by golly, I think we have found a 'gadget' that does exactly what it says it is designed to do and WILL do!! In a World of advertising claims that always tout "Mine is bigger and better and faster than yours!", it is refreshing to find an advertisement that is really truthful.
- WRANGLER OUTDOOR GEAR UPDATE
I have had a hundred inquiries about the Wrangler Outdoor Gear clothing line since we posted our product report about it last year. At 30%-50% the cost of the Columbias and Cabelas and BPS top-of-the-line outdoor clothing, this Wrangler line is the best thing since sliced bread and beer (And, yes, it is the same Wrangler that makes Garth Brook's jeans).

We looked into BoatsUS Marine Insurance and found it to be very cost-effective, as well as providing broad coverage.

Sooner or later, it has to happen - a true 'weedless' hook and lure!!
I mean, I want one so weedless that I can carry a crank plug with two treble hooks on it around in my pocket without fear. Now, that's a tall order and wishful thinking, you probably imagine.

If you have ever tried to get the blade on a small blade bait to start turning, you know you usually have to give it a quick jerk or a hard pull. Well, it appears COXLURES, Inc. may have solved the irritating problem.

- The TailKicker - Seems like we are always running across great new lures and the ‘TailKicker’ is sure a good one.
- WiggleFin - Every so often, an aspiring entrepreneur sends us a new fishing/outdoors product to look over. The latest came from Dean Teegarden and his company, WiggleFin, Inc.
- Pocket Mini-Tools - In our never-ending quest to find the perfect pocket tool, we came across these two little jewels at a Lowe's hardware store.
- Wrangler 'Hero' Outdoor Gear Clothing - While wandering through a local Wal-Mart SuperCenter recently, we happened to notice the lack of the usual T-shirts hanging in the sporting goods department. Instead, there were real shirts with buttons and real pants with belt loops. Upon a closer inspection, we found these to be the Wrangler Company's new line called 'Wrangler Hero', in a style called 'Outdoor Gear'. And, we think their 'Hero' line of 'Outdoor Gear' clothing is going to capture fishermen and others similarly engaged in outdoor pursuits in summer weather.
- The ABEL "Perfect TOOL" - When I saw the ad for Abel's perfect tool, I wondered if I had at last found the perfect pocket companion. It was small and very compact. All stainless steel, too; no rust on that puppy, for sure. Then, I noted it said it was designed for fishermen. I decided to give it a try.
- MinnKota MAXXUM 65 trolling motor - Well, I think MinnKota has done one of those 'good ones' with the MAXXUM 65 trolling motor. Tipster has used them all and, if this MAXXUM 65 is representative of the rest of the MAXXUM line, we got a winner here.
